Blue Lagoon Island Sea Lion Encounter and Beach Day
Tour Description
Upon arrival at Blue Lagoon Island, you'll meet the Dolphin Encounters trainers for a fun and interactive orientation covering the natural history of sea lions, animal training techniques, ocean conservation and wildlife guidelines. This educational and entertaining encounter is your chance to experience sea lions live and close-up like never before.
The Dolphin Encounters sea lion interaction takes place on specially designed, waist-deep submerged platforms in a calm, private island lagoon with 10 or less guests in your program. During the 30-minute program (including orientation), you'll have the opportunity to kiss, hug, feed and play with these affectionate and humorous marine mammals. While at the facility, you'll also have the opportunity to speak with one of the many animal care staff about the care of the marine mammals.
The Dolphin Encounters' professional photo and video staff will be capturing your encounter on film so that you will have a chance to take home souvenirs of your once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Following the sea lion encounter, you can take advantage of the other recreational activities that can be found on the island. Your visit to Blue Lagoon Island includes a beach chair for adults; the use of Island facilities, including large double hammocks and activities in the games area, such as volleyball, basketball, foosball, ping-pong, mini billiards, and jumbo board games such as king-size chess and dominoes; and the use of Big Boss floating noodles, floating mats and inner tubes.
Premium water sports are available for an extra fee; these include kayaks, paddle boats, water bikes, snorkeling tours and snorkeling equipment. Also available is a "Walk On The Wild Side Tour," an educational tour that teaches you about the native flora and fauna found on Blue Lagoon Island, and an "Ocean Safari Tour" for children to teach them about the marine environment.
The island features a gift shop, changing rooms, restrooms and fresh water shower facilities. The beach bar offers a drink menu that includes frozen pina coladas and daiquiris, a selection of local and imported beers, mixed drinks, water, sodas and Sky Juice (a Bahamian specialty).
Complimentary rum punch will be served on the cruise back to Prince George Wharf.
